Thank you Susan from A Southern Daydreamer for hosting another Outdoor Wednesday!
On walks through my town...I've been stalking this pretty trellis with this plant growing on it. Does any one know what type of plant this is? Is it a clematis? Is there a story behind this particular type of trellis that it's growing on? If anyone can give me any information on this...I would love to hear? I think it is so pretty. Planning for next spring already. Have a fun Outdoor Wednesday! Click on the picture for a much larger view.
Playing Kelly Pickler and Taylor Swift songs this week. We'll be seeing them perform this Saturday in a sold out concert. We're so excited here!!! ~amy

I don't think that's clematis...the leaves don't look similar to mine. It kind of looks like a grapevine. I'll be curious to see if anyone knows for sure.
I was going to say it looks more like a grapevine too. It really is pretty, and I love that low trellis. Hope someone knows what it is. Kathy
Clematis has flowers, that I know. I also have the same vine growing all over the place. They are wild, and cling to everything!!!
As it's dying off, cut it off, take the roots, separate them, and place them with a marker so you know where it is in the spring.
Good Luck
Happy OW

I'm thinking grapevine. I'm not sure though. Whatever it is, it's a nice picture.
Hi Amy,
I will defer to the others with more knowledge as to what this mystery plant is. It is very pretty though.
Cathy
I vote for grapevine, too.
It really is a nice picture! I have no idea and can't be of any help...sorry. But it is pretty whatever it is.
Happy OW!
I think it's a grapevine. Clematis usually aren't grown on that type of structure. It's a beautiful picture and the plant is in the perfect spot in your garden. If you get grapes let please let us know. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Great picture!!! :)

I agree that it is some sort of grapevine... keep your eye on it and maybe one day there will be grapes! Beautiful picture...
Nice one!
Lovely pictures .Have a nice day
I was voting for grapevine too.
I can see that others thought so as well.
Have a very happy Outdoor Wednesday.

Love the trellis, whatever it is it is beautiful.
It is funny you should mention that your folks told you Erie was across the lake, they used to tell us Canada was across the lake. LOL...we might of been looking across at each other.
I'm not much of a plant expert so I'll let others help you out. It's pretty though!
Not sure what plant it is, but I'd agree with Stacey that it looks like grapevine. It looks very pretty on the trellis. I have a flower growing in my back yard I'm not sure of either, come on over and take a guess for me, I just can't think of the name but I think it's common.
:-)
Hi Amy, you left a comment on my Daybook blog, the dog bone Christmas ornament was just a bone shape I sewed up and stuffed, it's to decorate a tree this year in a doggy theme :-)
whatever it is, it sure is healthy and pretty. I have never seen a trellas kind of square...
Not sure what this is but I think I am stealing it for my garden also next Spring!
Wow that vine does love that trellis. ???? what it is. Knock on the door & ask the people. Cool photo though. Love the song. Enjoy the concert.
Maybe a grapevine. Sort of all looks like another vine that I'm blocking on at the moment... Oak leaf hydrangea? Pretty though!

Looks like grapevine to me. Very pretty. Maybe your local county extension agent or master gardener's group could tell you for sure.
